The flip side of San Francisco’s non-existent summer is a very mild winter, making this outfit possible in January. Paired up with some tights or knee socks, these shorts are great for cool weather, and pass the bike riding test with ease.

I love this dress. The fit is perfect for everyday wear, riding bikes, hanging with chickies in the backyard, whatevs. 🙂
This wonderful pattern from Deer and Doe in France was designed for a C cup and normal shoulder width so I had lot of fitting work to do here. I made three bodice muslins and ended up taking in a big wedge out of the neckline, raising the neckline, modifying the front darts considerably, and letting out the side seams a bit. These muslins are a bit wrinkled after being stuffed in a drawer but you get the idea.

Here’s the final muslin with a sleeve, slimmed a bit for my twig arms, also known around here as “ma noodles”. I had to take a bit more fabric out from the neckline on the actual dress:
